The President's Comments

ABSTRACT

Much of the hard work that is necessary to make the American Dairy Science Association an effective and dynamic organization is performed by the various standing and special committees of the Association. One particular active committee at this time of the year is the Program Committee. Max E. Gregory of North Carolina State University is the current chairman. This committee met at Arlington Heights, Illinois on September 27 to make program plans for the next annual meeting. The request from the various division and section committees for meeting space, program time, symposia, etc., were received, discussed and coordinated by the Program Committee.

I was very impresses by the preliminary worked performed by the divisional and sectional program committees prior to this meeting. As a result, the Association's Program Committee was able to complete its business in the one-day meeting. In addition to the presentation of many scientific papers, several interesting symposia are being planned for the next annual meeting.
