ABSTRACT
Much is being said today about ecology and the effects of pesticides and food additives on ecology and on human health. Some is based on good evidence but much seems to be based primarily on fear—fear that comes from a lack of understanding. We have heard much about creditability gaps and the generation gap. Perhaps the biggest gap of all is the one that exists between the rational truth of science and the lack of understanding and, often, the irrational practices of society. This applies to many areas and not merely to the use of food additives. It is a problem that we should be concerned about. Much Remains to be learned through research, but the answers to many problems are known—but, often they are not known by the public. The library contains papers that could be useful to mankind—useful in helping people to understand their own nutrition, and useful in helping people to understand many other problems.
