ABSTRACT
Perhaps this Symposium can be concluded by stating that whether we like it or not, anytime we appear before a class or group we are rated or evaluated.
1.Self evaluation. Most individuals know when they have done a good job of lecturing. It may evolve to this statement, "To thine own self be true." If one is satisfied then generally speaking one's client is too. It would help, too, if students would occasionally cheer, applaud, stand or show some life at the end of a particularly good lecture. This is a great morale booster.
2.Students. Seniors should be interviewed by competent staff and administrators concerning the curriculum and improving instruction. All students deserve the right to evaluate all courses. These are rightful procedures. Some evaluation forms for colleges of agriculture have as few as a dozen questions and others have five times that number. In any event the evaluation forms should be collected by a student or faculty representative and delivered to the department chairman or his representative.
