ABSTRACT

{gamma}-Caseins A1 and A3 were isolated from cow milk typed A1 and A3 with respect to ß-casein. Disc gel electrophoretic patterns of {gamma}-A1, A2, A3, and B were compared with corresponding ß-casein patterns. The finding that the same relative spacings occur for the polymorphs of both {gamma}- and ß-caseins suggests that the amino acid substitutions which differentiate the ß-caseins also differentiate the {gamma}-caseins.
