Citation for Marvin Eugene Senger, Recipient of the Honors Award for Distinguished Service to the Dairy Industry of the South

ABSTRACT

The Honoree attended McPherson College in Kansas for one year and in 1941 received the B.S. degree in Dairy Husbandry from Iowa State College. He earned his M.S. degree in Dairy Husbandry from the University of Maryland in 1951. He has also had special training in electronic data processing in New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

This distinguished individual has held positions with Carnation Company as a fieldman, with the Brethren Service Commission from 1942 to 1945, in Dairy Extension at the University of Maryland from 1945 to 1951, and at North Carolina State University since 1951. In 1963 he was placed in charge of the Extension Dairy Husbandry Department.

His conscientious teaching and research efforts in the Extension Service have been an integral factor in expanding the scope of the Dairy industry in the South. Through numerous publications, dedicated participation, and dynamic leadership in the American Dairy Science Association, he has demonstrated an authoritative knowledge of all facets of dairy husbandry.
