A respected and active member of our Association, in a recent letter, drew attention to an important aspect of conducting the professional and business affairs of ADSA, namely, the desirability of having broad, geographical representation on the Board of Directors and in other executive offices. He did not in any way criticize the competence and performance of current and previous officers or indicate any conscious attempt to regional predominance, but he lamented the seeming lack of representation from certain regions of the United States.
His point is well taken. One must certainly endorse the idea of searching for candidates for the various Association offices in al parts of the country. ADSA is truly a national association and this should be reflected in its leadership. A top-of-the-head recall of the roster of past presidents suggests that we have had good regional representation in that office. But this is not to say that we should neglect attention to that aspect in our total selection of officers.
