Proposed By-Laws of the Production Division American Dairy Science Association

ABSTRACT

The following by-laws are presented by the Interim Council of the Production Division for consideration prior to the 65th Annual Meeting of the ADSA. They are intended to describe a structure for the Division as stated in the revised Constitution (J. Dairy Sci., 51:1555). The result seeks to provide for the interests of every member in the division, with a minimum of administrative layers. The six members elected to the governing council by the Division should provide for a wide variety of interests. Committees were considered less likely to segment and more amenable to change than formal sections. Committees were added, expanded, or combined to meet the current needs and responsibilities of the Division while avoiding duplication of effort. Mechanisms were provided for evolution of other structures should they be needed.

The Production Division is that Professional Division of the American Dairy Science Association (hereafter ADSA) organized around disciplines and their applications to the production phase of the dairy industry (Article III, Section 1, Revised By-Law of the ADSA).
