ABSTRACT
A simple method for determination of total iodine in milk, based on neutron activation analysis is described. After the irradiation, iodine is separated from the milk samples by a radiochemical procedure based on solvent extraction and precipitation, and 128I activity is subsequently measured with a gamma-ray spectrometer. Precision of the method at iodine concentrations of the order of 0.1 ppm is about 5%.
