A pioneer, a teacher, and a leader in the dairy field for many years, "Andy" will be missed by students, fellow teachers and co workers in many parts of the world. He will be remembered from Paris to Pakistan for his knowledge, his sense of humor and his under standing and insight of many intra- as well as extramural problems of the dairy industry. Elmer 0. Anderson, professor emeritus of dairy manufacturing at the University of Connecticut, died in St. Petersburg, Florida, on October 18, 1970. He retired from the University of Connecticut in 1955, where he had taught and conducted research since 1925. Two of his major interests were the quality and flavor of dairy products. As a coach of the University of Connecticut dairy products judging teams, he was appointed a member of the coaches' committee for the National Collegiate Dairy Products Judging Contest and served as committee chairman for three years.
