ABSTRACT

One of Wisconsin's best known specialists in dairy sanitation, Evert Wallenfeldt, retired from the University of Wisconsin June 30, 1970.

Perhaps more than any other one man, Professor Wallenfeldt is responsible for the extremely high standards of cleanliness and quality of Wisconsin milk and dairy products. During the years of transition from cans to bulk tank storage, from stall barns to milking parlors and from small dairy herds to large herds, Evert Wallenfeldt travelled the state of Wisconsin emphasizing higher quality in milk and milk products.

He has been given special citations by the Wisconsin Council of Agriculture, Wisconsin Environmental Health Association and National Dairy Plant Pieldmen's Association. In 1957 his efforts were rewarded with recognition as Sanitarian of the Year, but his real reward is in the high standards of Wisconsin milk known throughout the world.

Professor Wallenfeldt is a native of Stanton, Iowa and a 1926 graduate of Iowa State University.
