ABSTRACT

Conclusion: The food industry stands on the threshold of a challenging and complex future. Change will occur at aspiralling rate. Satisfying the compound wants, desires, and needs of our growing populations will test our ability to fulfill our responsibilities to our fellowmen as professionals, as an industry, and as a leader among nations. I am confident that we can meet this test with the balanced thrust of American courage, ingenuity, free enterprise, and the power of organized knowledge applied to the realization of purposeful and common goals.

To achieve rapid, comprehensive knowledge transfer, to stimulate creative participation and united effort among and between all academic and all industrial disciplines, I propose full utilization of the Communication Team. Its knowledge-to-need, university-to-industry, person-to-person approach is capable of delivering solutions to the problems and developing the opportunities of the future. The momentum is provided by you and me, and by people like us. The need is now and rising. Quite simply but most sincerely, may I suggest—let us get started!
