ABSTRACT

D. J. Schingoethe Joins South Dakota Staff

Dr. David J. Schingoethe has joined the Dairy Science staff at South Dakota State University as assistant professor and dairy cattle nutrition. He came to South Dakota from Michigan State University, where he earned the Ph.D. degree in December, 1968. His doctoral research was on factors in soybeans influencing growth, pancreatic function, and digestion. Research for his M.S. degree at the University of Illinois involved determining the amino acids required for milk protein synthesis in an in vitro system.

A native of Illinois, Dr. Schingoethe earned the B.S. degree in Agricultural Science in 1964 and the M.S. in Dairy Nutrition in 1965 at the University of Illinois. He is a member of Alpha Zeta, Gamma Sigma Delta and Sigma Xi.

F. J. Grommers Visiting Professor at Missouri

Dr. F. J. Grommers of the Institute for Animal Husbandry, Faculty Veterinary Medicine, University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, has joined the Department of Dairy Husbandry of the University of Missouri in Columbia for six months.
