ABSTRACT
A procedure is presented utilizing linear programming for making economic comparisons of forages. The technique permits the determination of the maximum that could be paid for a given feedstuff in a ration when evaluated in terms of alternative feedstuffs. Comparative cost values are presented for three alfalfa silages of different nutrient composition relative to corn silage at three prices.
