Department of Food Science, North Carolina State University at Raleigh
ABSTRACT
The Ohio State University, located in central Ohio, opened its hospitable and spacious campus to American Dairy Science Association members, their families, and visitors for the sixty-third annual meeting.
This renowned university of higher learning was established in 1873 as the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College. It has progressed in the typical land-grant tradition to become one of the largest institutions in the U.S. with an enrollment of 41,000 students, offering 250 programs of study, and 5,000 courses in 95 departments.
Professors N. L. VanDemark and I. A. Gould of the Departments of Dairy Science and Dairy Technology, respectively, their staffs and wives, had made detailed plans for the comfort and entertainment of members and their families. They were most cooperative and gracious hosts and hostesses.
The program committee chaired by Dr. T. I. Hedrick, assembled an excellent program of papers for the various sections, for the symposia, for the opening session, and for the awards program.
