R. J. Flipse Appointed Director at Pennsylvania
Dr. Robert J. Flipse, Professor of Dairy Science, has been appointed Assistant Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station at The Pennsylvania State University as of March 1, 1968.
A native of Oakley, Kansas, Dr. Flipse graduated from Kansas State University and earned the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in animal nutrition from Michigan State University. He became a faculty member at The Pennsylvania State University in 1950 with the rank of Assistant Professor of Dairy Science at the Dairy Breeding Research Center. He was promoted to full professor in 1966.
In his new position, Dr. Flipse will participate in the administration of the total research program of the College of Agriculture, with initial responsibility for grants, contracts, and agreements and processing of research projects.
His research has been in the area of reproductive physiology of dairy cattle, with emphasis on gamete physiology and nutrition using radioisotopes.
