ABSTRACT
Addition of 10% lard to a basal ration lowered feed intake and resulted in less growth of calves between 6 and 12 weeks old. Feed flavor compounds did not affect feed intake. Apparent digestibilities, measured over Weeks 13 to 15, revealed that added lard reduced digestibility of dry matter and energy, whereas lipid and nitrogen were not affected.
