ABSTRACT
Colorimetric determinations of copper in whole milk by a rapid method were found to vary with the fat content of milk. Subsequent investigations revealed that carotene (or fat) extracted with the copperarazate complex contributed to the variation in results. These results show that carotene concentrations similar to those in milk products may significantly influence copper determinations by the rapid procedure.
