ABSTRACT

S. N. Quam Retires

Sidney N. Quam, Riverside, Illinois, retired March 1, 1968 as Vice President of Sugar Creek Foods, Division of National Dairy Products Corporation, Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Quam graduated from S. D. State College in 1926, majoring in dairy science and minoring in chemistry. He earned the M.S. degree in 1928 at lowa State College under the direction of the late Dr. B. W. Hammer.

He was employed by Sugar Creek Foods in 1928 to set up a control laboratory. An outgrowth of the laboratory was the development of processes which were patented. For 20 years he has been in charge of production for the company.

In August he and his wife left for Chile on an assignment with International Executive Service Corps, New York, N. Y., to serve as a Volunteer Executive with Dos Alamos, Santiago, Chile, a company manufacturing dairy products.
