Department of Animal Science, Cornell University Ithaca, New York
ABSTRACT
The American Dairy Science Association for the third time in 33 years, held its annual meeting on the beautiful Campus of Cornell University, above the waters of scenic Lake Cayuga.
Cornell University, noted for its innovative educational policies, was founded in 1865 when the Classics and Theology dominated American education. It quickly became a modern university. Its resources are international. Areas of studies can be supplemented with work abroad through special project partnerships with such institutions as the Universities of London, the Philippines, San Marcos in Peru, and Sydney, Australia. Students and faculty may roam the world on special projects of their own.
Cornell is New York State's land-grant university. It has four divisions in partnership with the main university; namely, the New York State Colleges of Agriculture and Home Economics, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and the College of Veterinary Medicine. There are nine other divisions that are privately endowed.
