ABSTRACT
The determination of LDH, LDH-1, LDH-5, GO-T, and GP-T has been performed in the various reproductive organs from five healthy young Holstein-Friesian bulls. No pathological ejaculates were obtained at any time during this investigation. The LDH activity in the various male reproductive organs was significantly (P < 0.01) higher than LDH-1 and LDH-5. Further, LDH-5 was significantly (P < 0.05) higher than LDH-1. Significant difference did exist in the activity of LDH-1 and LDH-5 among the various reproductive organs. The activity of GO-T observed in the various male reproductive organs was significantly (P < 0.01) higher than GP-T activity. Glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase was located primarily in the testis, ampulla, seminal vesicle, disseminate prostate, and bulbourethral gland. Also, the testis, corpus epididymidis, and disseminate prostate were the primary sites of GP-T activity in the male reproductive organs.
