Ernest L. Anthony 1888–1966

ABSTRACT

Ernest L. Anthony, former Dean of the College of Agriculture, Michigan State University, East Lansing, died October 19, 1966, at the age of 78. Funeral services were held October 22 at the Peoples Church in East Lansing. Honorary pallbearers were: H. P. Davis, J. A. Hannah, C. F. Huffman, K. H. McDonel, L. W. Morley, K. K. Vining, and H. J. Wyngarden. Active pallbearers were: T. K. Cowden, J. G. Hayes, H. D. Hubbard, G. M. Trout, and Earl Weaver.

Since his retirement in 1953, Dean and Mrs. Anthony lived at 524 Rosewood. Besides his wife, ReLura G., he is survived by two married daughters, Mrs. John Pierce and Mrs. Ned Kindig, and a sister.

Born at Westcott, Nebraska, Dean Anthony was reared near Marceline, Missouri, and received his B.S. degree from the University of Missouri in 1914. He earned his M.S. degree in dairy at Pennsylvania State University. He came to Michigan State University in 1928 and headed the Dairy Department for nine years.
