ABSTRACT

Conclusion: Under equilibrium conditions, it appears that pentobarbital passes into the milk of cows and goats in accord with pH partition concepts. It would be desirable to study wider ranges of pentobarbital concentrations, to test a possible loading effect.

Phenobarbital also appears to enter the milk of the goat via passive diffusion. Here a wide range of plasma concentrations could be studied and no loading of a possible carrier system could be demonstrated.
