ABSTRACT
Daily injections of progesterone for 14 days into animals with follicular cysts resulted in normal estrus in 61.5 and 62.5% of those on the 50- and 100-mg daily dosage level, respectively. The 50-mg dosage level resulted in 19 conceptions from 39 (48.7%) treatments while in those on the 100-mg dosage level, 21 conceptions resulted from 40 (52.5%) treatments. Some animals received a second or third series of injections. Of those treated one or more times, 58.8% conceived. Of 30 control animals, four (13.3%) conceived. The 50-mg dosage level was more effective in controlling the time of post-treatment estrus.
