World Association for Animal Production, Joint American Dairy Science Association and The American Society for Animal Science Organizing Committee, USDA, Beltsville, Maryland
ABSTRACT
The World Association for Animal Production (WAAP) was officially established in March, 1966. The membership consists of technical animal and dairy science associations and societies of several countries throughout the world. The present membership includes the American Dairy Science Association; the American Society of Animal Science; the Canadian Society of Animal Production; the European Association for Animal Production (an affiliation of associations of European countries); the Australian Society of Animal Production; the New Zealand Society of Animal Production; the South African Society of Animal Production; and the Japanese Society of Zootechnical Science. Opportunity exists for technical societies and associations of other countries or regions to become members.
Each member association or society appoints a representative to the World Association Council, which constitutes the governing body. The Council elects officers of the Association. The officers are: President, R. E. Hodgson, U. S. A., Council member for the American Dairy Science Association; Vice-President, W. R. Trehane, Great Britain, Council member for the European Association for Animal Production.
