J. M. McIntire Promoted at Carnation's
Dr. Junius M. McIntire was born in Price, Utah, January 27, 1918. He received an A.B. degree in Chemistry from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, in June, 1940. He received his M.S. degree in 1942 and Ph.D. degree in 1944 in biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin. From 1944 through 1949 he was in charge of product development for the Western Condensing Company in Appleton, Wisconsin. From 1950–54, he was head of the dairy, oils and fat products division of the Quartermaster Food and Container Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the Carnation Company as Assistant Director of Research in December, 1954, being responsible for research on instant milk products. He was appointed General Manager of the Carnation Research Laboratories January 1, 1967.
Arthur C. Ragsdale Scholarship Established
A scholarship to be awarded annually to an outstanding senior in dairy husbandry at the University of Missouri has been established by students and friends of Dr. A. C. Ragsdale, Professor Emeritus of Dairy Husbandry and Chairman of the department from 1919 to 1961.
