Status of the Journal of Dairy Science 1967¹

ABSTRACT

There were 256 research papers, 78 technical notes, 8 industry papers, and 394 abstracts, totalling 1,902 pages, published in Volume 50 of the Journal for 1967. Volume 49 for 1966 contained 1,628 pages for these same areas.

The symposia presented at the 62nd Annual Meeting will be published in Volume 51, 1968.

Publication of abstracts. The publication of Abstracts for the Annual Meeting of our Association is justified, because they are pre-publication releases of research projects from departments and research laboratories in the USA and Canada. These Abstracts have attracted considerable interest in other countries.

Most of the Abstracts submitted for the Sixty-second Annual Meeting of ADSA have more information crowded into 200 words than any abstracts we have ever published. Some of them have been criticized for being excessively abbreviated, and difficult to read.

Authors have improved titles and abstracts of papers submitted for publication, both of which are necessary to disseminate and to retrieve scientific literature.
