ABSTRACT

C. A. ABELE HONORED

C. A. Abele, Director of Public Health, The Diversey Corporation, received the 3-A Honor Award Plaque of Dairy Industry Committee, in Oklahoma City, May 10, during meetings of the 3-A Sanitary Standards Committees.

The plaque recognized Mr. Abele's service as trustee and sceretary-treasurer of the 3-A Sanitary Standards Symbol Administrative Council since its founding in 1955, as well as his many years as chairman of the Committee on Sanitary Procedures of International Association of Milk, Food and Environmental Sanitarians (IAMFES).

Fred E. Uetz, The Borden Company, President of IAMPES, presented the plaque which was inscribed, Presented May 1966 to Charles A. Abele in appreciation of his serines to the 3-A Sanitary Standards Program.

The plaque was the third such award in the history of the program. Two earlier honorees are Dr. Elliott H. Parfitt, formerly with Evaporated Milk Association, who served as Chairman of the Sanitary Standards Subcommittee of Dairy Industry Committee and was an active participant in 3-A discussions for many years; and T. A. Burress, formerly with The Heil Co., and a former co-chairman of the Technical Committee of Dairy and Pood Industries Supply Association and a member of its task committees on bottle washers, transportation tanks and storage tanks.
