ABSTRACT

Paul P. Somers Honored

•Paul P. Somers, University of Illinois Associate Professor of Dairy Science, emeritus was recognized for his service to the Illinois dairy industry Tuesday, October 18, 1966 at the Dairy Fieldman's conference in Champaign.

Professor Somers received a framed scroll citation for his outstanding service and loyalty to the Department of Dairy Science, the University of Illinois and to the dairy industry of Illinois. "Through untiring efforts," it read in part, "you have helped to improve the quality of dairy products manufactured in Illinois."

The scroll presented by G. W. Salisbury, head of the Department of Dairy Science, was signed by all department members. In making the presentation, Dr. Salisbury commented on the role Paul had taken in developing and implementing an educational program to improve Illinois Dairy products.

Professor Somers worked with producers and processors in leading an educational program on the quality improvement of dairy products that was sponsored cooperatively by the University and state dairy processor.
