ABSTRACT
There is a close relationship between education and develpoment. Education is the single most important element in modernization; in fact, the process of modernization is fundamentally a process of education. These thoughts were expressed by David E. Bell, Administrator, A.I.D. Any contribution which may be made to the educational program of another country must be motivated by the desire to enhance the efforts of those people affected to do all the things enabling them to achieve a better life.
The need for research and education on milk and milk products has been established. Excellent proposals have been made designating programs which will be effective in developing countries. If we accept these statements we may conclude that our principal efforts should now be directed toward implementation of the proposals.
Believing that many of our members may not have familiarized themselves with the contents of the numerous excellent reports containing pertinent information, possibly a greater number should be assigned to panels such as this one which, in itself, stimulates a careful reading of these reports.
