R. L. Baldwin and R. Willes

Department of Animal Husbandry, University of California, Davis

The effect of Co60 irradiation of the udders of heifers during late pregnancy and early lactation upon enzyme levels in mammary glands was investigated. The results indicated that enzyme levels in mammary tissue were relatively unaffected by doses of irradiation up to 2,000 r.
