Symposium: International Interests and Activities of the American Dairy Science Association

Report on Food and Agricultural Organization's Meeting on Dairy Education and American Dairy Science Association's Participation

ABSTRACT

The PAO International Meeting on Dairy Education was held at the International Conference Center, 19 Avenue Kleber, Paris, June 2–8, 1964. The meeting was attended by 61 delegates from 30 countries, 15 observers from 10 countries, 15 observers from 7 international organizations, in addition to the FAO staff and consultants.

The United States delegation was composed of the following members of the American Dairy Science Association: S. T. Coulter, University of Minnesota, President, American Dairy Science Association; Walter L. Dunkley, University of California; Ralph E. Hodgson, USD A, Chairman; Donald V. Josephson, Pennsylvania State University; Frank V. Kosikowski, Cornell University; G. M. Trout, Michigan State University; and K. L. Turk, Cornell University, Consultant to FAO. Dr. Bernhard Larsen, Seal-test, Philadelphia, was an observer at the meeting.

Fourteen working papers were presented to open the discussion. The specific subjects discussed and the authors were presented in the following orders:

  1. Dairy Education in France, Rene Bigorre, President, French Dairy Association, France.
