Dairymen will Meet at Virginia

ABSTRACT

The Dairymen's Short Course will be held at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, Virginia, December 6–8, 1965. This course is planned for dairy herd owners, managers, herdsmen and dairy service people.

Topics will include dairy cattle systems and facilities for the future, dairy labor training and handling, research results and new recommendations, nutritional diseases, manure disposal systems, reproductive problems and physiological abnormalities, and information on other dairy cattle problems.

Dr. L. A. Moore of the Dairy Husbandry Research Branch, USDA, will discuss the use of net energy instead of TDN in calculating feed requirements of dairy cattle.

Mr. W. M. Gaunt, Executive Vice President of the Virginia Dairy Products Association and Chairman of the State Advisory Council to the College of Agriculture will speak at a joint session of the Short Course and the Dairy Science Student Club on Changing the Image of the Dairy Parmer.
