The dairy industry has lost a great teacher, researcher, and executive in the death of Dr. Arthur C. Fay on July 5, 1964, while visiting at Tilton, N. H. He was born in St. John's, Kansas, on February 18, 1896. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Missouri in 1920, his M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1921, and his Ph.D. from Iowa State College in 1933.
Dr. Fay's teaching career at Kansas State College extended from 1921 through 1937 when he left his position as Professor of Bacteriology to become Director of Laboratories and Research for H. P. Hood & Sons, Boston, Mass.
He was a member of the honorary fraternities of Sigma Xi, Gamma Sigma Delta, and Phi Kappa Phi.
Dr. Fay had been active in community affairs in Manhattan, Kansas, as well as in Winchester, Massachusetts, where he resided with his family until retiring to North Miami, Florida, in 1957.
