DR. ERNEST C. DEUBLER died April 26 at his home on Doylestown Pike, Newtown, Pennsylvania. He was 74.
A practicing veterinarian and farm manager for 30 years, Dr. Deubler was born in Tunkhannock, Pa., the son of the late James and Emily Thomas Deubler. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1911, and was widely known in the dairy breeding industry. Dr. Deubler was a member of both the National and Pennsylvania Veterinary Associations, and a past president of the National Ayrshire Breeders Association. He was a founding director of the former Newtown Title and Trust Company, and continued in the capacity of director when that company merged with the Central Penn National Bank. He was a 50-year member of the Temple Lodge 248, F & AM, and the Royal Arch Chapter 172, both of Tunkhannock: the Benjamin Franklin Consistory, Valley of Philadelphia, and Lu-Lu Temple. He was also a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Newtown.
Surviving are his widow, the former Marie Smith; three daughters, Dr. Josephine Deubler and Mrs. Eva Deubler, both of Newtown, and Mrs. Howard D. Trimpi, Allentown; a son, Dr. James A. Deubler, Newtown; a sister, Mrs. William S. Stephens, Collegeville, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Newtown, with Rev. Dr. Ronald A. Wiley officiating.
