ABSTRACT

From August 28 to September 7, 1963, three meetings of importance to animal research workers, including dairy production, were held in Rome, Italy. These were the annual meeting of the European Association for Animal Production (EAAP) ; a Symposium on Meat Production by Dairy Cattle, organized by European and American research workers interested in this subject; and the first World Conference on Animal Production.

Concurrent with these meetings, representatives of the interested animal production societies of the world looked into the possibilities of joining together to form a World Animal Production Association, particularly for the purpose of sponsoring periodic World Animal Production Conferences. To represent the A.D.S.A. at these meetings, President S. T. Coulter designated R. E. Hodgson, I. W. Rupel, and K. L. Turk to attend and participate. Other A.D.S.A. members were invited to present papers on the program and the Association also nominated several members who indicated an interest in attending as observers. The purpose of this report is to inform the membership of the activities that took place at these meetings.
