ABSTRACT
The definition of evaluation can be dichotomized into rhetorical and mathematical meanings. The three speakers preceding me are well known to be far more articulate in mathematical evaluations than I am. Therefore, it is quite possible that the committee organizing this symposium was cognizant of these relative talents and hoped that I, fearing the contrast of exposure, would avoid mathematical discussions in my presentation. I accept the implications of their assignment.
Therefore, in keeping with the nature of my assignment, I shall summarize the artificial insemination (A.I.) results related to growth by saying that there are some A.I. organizations bigger than others, and the big ones are different than the little ones. In a more serious vein, Table 1 shows some of the relationships between A.I. organizations of different size that exist today. Sixty per cent of the organizations provided less than 100,000 first services each in 1962. These studs owned 33% of the bulls in A.I.
