ABSTRACT
The dye-binding procedure presented in this paper involves changes or modifications of previously published methods or equipment. The flow-through cuvette (1, 2) was modified by reversing the flow through the cell and providing a longer inlet. This provided rapid flow through the cuvette and eliminated the problem of air locks in the inlet tube and bubbles in the cell. The procedures of Dolby (3) and Raadsveld (4, 5) were modified by changing the flow-through cuvette, the volume of milk, and the strength of the dye solution. These changes did not alter the accuracy, but greatly simplified the procedure.
