ABSTRACT
There were 187 research papers, 62 technical notes, 17 industry papers, 10 symposium papers, 294 abstracts, and 6 book reviews published in Volume 46 for 1963 (Table 1). The number of papers was almost identical to those published in Volume 45. Volume 47 for 1964 contained 188 research papers, 72 technical notes, 17 industry papers, 23 symposium papers, 309 abstracts, and 6 book reviews (Table 2). Total publications increased in Volume 47 over those in Volume 46.
There were 45 manuscripts at the Garrard Press on December 1, 1964. This is the largest number ever having been in the printing process at one time. Consequently, we may expect Volume 48 of the JOURNAL to contain more papers than preceding volumes.
CIRCULATION ABROAD
American scientists traveling in Africa and Asia reported that scientific journals from the United States are not accompanying our dollars to the newly developing countries. They found journals from the Communist countries but only a few from the democracies.
1 Report submitted to the Executive Board at the 59th Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association, University of Arizona, Tucson, June, 1964.
2 The editor's report to the Executive Board has included only the Journal volume preceding the Annual Meeting. Consequently, this report did not apply to the volume in which it was published. To make the editor's report more up-to-date, the statistics for Volumes 46 for 1963 and 47 for 1964 are included in this Journal. Hereafter, the December Journal will contain the editor's report and a statistical summary of its current volume.
