Fifty-Eighth Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association at Purdue University June 16–19, 1963

I. W. Rupel, President

Department of Dairy Science, Texas A and M College, College Station

ABSTRACT

The 58th Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association was held at The Cross Roads of America in scenic Indiana, where the peony, the tulip tree, and the cardinal symbolize the state's beauty and its great seal depicts sturdy ancestry, with a woodsman felling a tree. In the land of William Henry Harrison, of James Whitcomb Riley, of historic Port Ouiatenon, of Chief Tecumseh, and of Tippecanoe, Purdue University provided a most hospitable and stimulating environment for scholarly discussions and recreational activities. The members of the Department of Animal Sciences and their wives were most gracious hosts and hostesses.

The opening session was held on the morning of June 17 in the Memorial Center, with Dr. F. N. Andrews, Head of the Department of Animal Sciences, presiding. Singing of the national anthem was led by a representative of the Purdue University Musical Organizations. The invocation was given by the Rev. James R. Tozer of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of West Lafayette, Indiana.
