Olson Elected President of the Carnation Company
H. EVERETT OLSON has been elected president of the Carnation. Company, succeeding ALFRED M. GHORMLEY, who resigned. The action was taken at the company's board of directors' quarterly meeting on February 13, 1963.
Ghormley, who had been president since 1957, was elected vice-chairman of the board and chairman of the executive committee. He has served the firm since 1915. ELBRIDGE H. STUART continues as board chairman.
Olson joined Carnation in 1931 as assistant controller. Appointed treasurer in 1948, he subsequently was elected a director and became vice-president for finance in 1954. He since has served as a member of the executive committee, chairman of the Instant Products Division, and president of Albers Milling Company, cereals and feeds subsidiary.
Born and educated in Chicago, Olson was graduated from Northwestern University, where he studied accounting and business administration.
In another management change, REED BRAITHWAITE was promoted from assistant vice-president to vice-president and treasurer, succeeding JOHN M. REILY, who resigned to devote full time to personal affairs.
