ABSTRACT

K. L. Turk Assumes New Directorship

DR. K. L. TURK, an international authority in animal husbandry, was recently named as the first Director of International Agricultural Development in the New York State College of Agriculture at Cornell University.

"As far as we know, this is the first appointment of its type in any college of agriculture in the U.S. land-grant university system," PRESIDENT DEANE W. MALOTT said. "With the world shrinking almost to the size of a neighborhood, a progressive university must extend its campus to the four corners of the earth. Cornell's international expansion in agriculture can make striking progress under the leadership of Dr. Turk."

In making the announcement of the appointment, DR. CHARLES E. PALM, Dean of Agriculture, said that "No field of endeavor holds more opportunity for service to humanity than international agricultural development. The new position adds a fourth dimension to the three long-time directorships in resident instruction, research, and extension."
