ABSTRACT

Professor Ben Goodale Honored by Students

Student appreciation at Clemson College for 40 yr of teaching and counseling given more than 5,000 of his students went to retiring PROFESSOR BEN E. GOODALE, head of the Clemson College Dairy Science Department recently.

Jerry L. Moore, past president of the Clemson Dairy Science Club of which Goodale is founder, presented him with a memento. The gift, a sterling silver pitcher, known to dairymen as the Guernsey Jug, symbolizes dairy science excellence at Clemson. Each year the outstanding dairy science student at Clemson is the recipient of such an award. Under the special circumstances involving Professor Goodale, the students this year presented him with the award. His retirement was announced in the JOURNAL OF DAIRY SCIENCE for November, 1962.
