ABSTRACT
The Journal Management Committee met November 23, 1962, Hamilton Hotel, Chicago, Illinois. All members except Dr. F. J. Doan were present. President I. Walker Rupel also attended.
The Committee considered the general status of the JOURNAL with respect to costs, format, length and number of papers, and mailing schedule. Prior to the Committee Meeting the Chairman spent a day with Editor E. O. Herreid and Claude Cruse, Garrard Press, Champaign, Illinois, and became better acquainted with the entire production program of the JOURNAL.
Items considered and recommendations to the Executive Board follow.
PRINTING COSTS
Beginning with Volume 45 (1962) a twocolumn style with slightly smaller type was adopted. This change was expected to reduce printing costs and provide a more attractive and easily readable JOURNAL.
Figures submitted by Secretary Judkins indicate that marked reduction in cost of producing the JOURNAL have been made during 1962. The cost of printing and mailing it was approximately $9,000 less in 1962 than in 1961.
