ABSTRACT

California State Polytechnic College Los Lecheros Dairy Club Honors Two Dairy Industry Leaders

Each year, at the California State Polytechnic College Los Lecheros Dairy Club's Annual Awards Banquet, dairy students honor one representative each from the field of Dairy Production and Dairy Manufacturing, with honorary membership in the Student Section, Los Lecheros. The addition of two dairy industry leaders, Osborne and Spalding, this year raised the total number of honorary memberships given by the club to 30.

Robert E. Osborne, president of Knudsen Creamery Company, Los Angeles, 1926 graduate of the University of California, College of Agriculture, began working for Knudsen as a laboratory technician in 1927, and rose through the firm's ranks to become president in 1954. He is currently president of the Milk Industry Foundation, a director of the Dairy Institute of California and, as past president of the California Dairy Council, a member of that body's executive board.
