The Annual Fall Banquet of the Dairy Science Club was held at the Center for Continuing Education, November 17, 1961. Over 200 students, parents, industry representatives, and other friends attended.
The toastmaster was Don Williams, president of the Club. Music was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards of the University Music Department. The speaker, D. W. Brooks, Manager of the Cotton Producers Association, was introduced by Dean C. C. Murray. Mr. Brooks spoke on his observations from world travels for his organization.
H. B. Henderson, Head of the Dairy Department, presented scholarship awards provided by representatives of the Georgia dairy industry to 13 students. The dairy manufacturing students receiving awards were Leonard Bornemann, a senior from Liberty, N. Y.; Russell Wilmer Emerson, senior, Otero, N. Y.; James Allen Grismer, junior, New Hyde Park, N. Y.; Richard Davis Moore, senior, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; James Smith, senior, Augusta, Ga.; Johnny Warren Stone, junior, Hogansville, Ga.; Ronald Allen Waddell, senior, Devereux, Ga.; and the Borden Foundation Award to Rodolfo Villavicencio, senior, Guatemala, Guatemala.
