Dairy Technology Societies

ABSTRACT

Central Illinois—The group met February 14 at Holiday Inn Restaurant, Bloomington. Speaker was M. (Mike) W. Hales, Paul-Lewis Laboratories, Milwaukee, discussing Starter Cultures—Their Use and Care.

Central Michigan—Speaker at the January meeting at the High Life Inn, Saginaw, was Dale Seiberling, Klenzade Products Company, Beloit. While discussing Automation Cleaning Installations, Mr. Seiberling gave an interesting and effective presentation using color picture projections of many installations in both small and large dairy plants.

Kansas City—February meeting of this group featured Jack Smith, Chief Engineer, Meyer-Blanke Company, St. Louis, as guest speaker. His topic: New Developments in C.I.P. Cleaning.

Metropolitan—Gasner's Restaurant, New York City, was the locale of the February meeting, with R. P. Zelm, Dry Milk Institute, talking on The Use of Nonfat Dry Milk in the Milk Industry.

Nebraska—V. W. Casteel, Mid-West Divisional Manager of the Germantown Manufacturing Company, gave a talk—Stabilizers and Creaming of Cottage Cheese—based on research work done by his company in conjunction with Dr. Frank Kosikowski of Cornell University in the development of the new sweet cultured cream.
