The Refrigeration Research Foundation, 12 North Meade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado
ABSTRACT
The Refrigeration Research Foundation became interested in container problems in refrigerated warehouses approximately 2 yr. ago. We became interested in the problem at the request of the refrigerated warehousing industry. So that you will understand why we were called upon for help, following is a brief résumé of The Foundation's role in the food field.
Several years ago, members of the refrigerated warehousing industry decided to provide means to stimulate scientific investigations in the field of food refrigeration. Since this industry consisted of many relatively small companies, they planned to achieve together those objectives that large companies achieve individually through research—such as improved technology, sound development, better service to customers and the public generally, and an advanced body of new scientific fact that would sustain the refrigeration industry in more remote years.
To this end they founded The Refrigeration Research Foundation. It is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation, incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois, and it has been established for 16 yr.
1 Presented at the Dairy Manufactures Conference, University of Wisconsin, Madison, 1961.
