Modern Concepts of Dairy Plant Engineering

A. L. Rippen

Food Science Department, Michigan State University, East Lansing

ABSTRACT

Conclusion: In conclusion, it should be mentioned that we are in a period of transition and are achieving refinements and standardization of automated systems which will be acceptable to all segments of the dairy industry. Some degree of automation has been in common practice for several years. But, not all firms will likely adopt extensive automation until the advantages for them become clearly evident. Several managers and engineers are exerting a coordinated effort in planning the future of their organization with the philosophy of being neither the first nor the last to automate.
