ABSTRACT
The Canvassing Committee of the American Chemical Society for this award for the coming year hopes that many worthy members of the American Dairy Science Association will be nominated for the Award in the Chemistry of Milk. Nominations do not have to be prepared for research workers nominated last year.
This award is popularly known as the Borden Award, because it is sponsored by the Borden Company Foundation, Inc. Its purpose is: "To recognize and encourage outstanding research achievements in the chemistry of milk in the United States and Canada." The award consists of $1,000 and a gold medal. An allowance of $150 is provided for travelling expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented. A nominee must be a resident of the United States or Canada and have accomplished outstanding research in the chemistry of milk and dairy products or in fundamental research that contributes directly and materially to the knowledge of milk and dairy products.
