J. Carroll Bateman Appointed General Manager I.I.I.

J. CARROLL BATEMAN was recently appointed general manager of the new Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.)

Mr. Bateman, 42, has been in the public relations field for 18 yr. He assumed his new position with the I.I.I. on February 1 in New York City. He was the unanimous choice from over 50 candidates.

The Insurance Information Institute for the first time in the industry's history combines all the public relations facilities and operations of eight nationally established capital stock organizations representing 300 fire and casualty insurance companies.

Charter members of the I.I.I. include the Association of Casualty and Surety Companies, National Board of Fire Underwriters, National Bureau of Casualty Underwriters, Surety Association of America, National Automobile Underwriters Association, Inter-Regional Insurance Conference, Inland Marine Underwriters Association, and Inland Marine Insurance Bureau.

Born July 13, 1917, at Norwood, Pa., Mr. Bateman attended Baltimore (Maryland) schools, was graduated from Johns Hopkins University, and attended the Graduate School at New York University.
